GREAT NEWS!!! Jacob just took about 7 steps all by himself from his physical therapist to me!!! His new therapist is a real stickler and does not let tears and screaming get to her-- she patiently sticks to her guns and waits for Jacob to do what she knows he can. So there was a lot of crying, screaming, and coaxing before it happened, BUT HE DID IT! Twice! I have to admit that I cried the first time he made it to me, and I think the therapist thought I was crying because she was so hard on Jacob, but I wasn't-- I've just waited for so long for this moment! I'm so happy!! Jacob can walk!!!

Those poor Jehovah’s witnesses showed up at the door here again . They come here every few months or so. They rang the doorbell and my father-in-law (Craig) answered it. They asked if he'd like to talk about religion and he invited them in and said he'd love to. To make a long story short, he asked what makes the Jehovah's Whitnesses special and what was their "compelling doctrine". Their response was "well, we read the bible." Craig- "So do the Baptists, Catholics, and Mormons..... so what is special about your church" JW's- "we belive in Jesus Christ" Craig- "so do all of the Christians.... " JW's- "We preach the gospel" Craig- "Um... that still isn't original. Tell me why I should listen to you over anyone else" JW's- "Umm... I don't know..." Craig- "Well I'll tell you what the Mormon's compelling doctrine is that makes us different from everyone: We have ...

Deathly Hallows A box came in the mail on Saturday...it contained TWO copies of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows . One for me (happy birthday me from Chad) and one for Chad. I'm about 1/4 of the way through it. Do YOU have your copy?!? It's also officially my most hated time of year. Camping is over and it's HOT and even in the evenings it doesn't cool down much below 70 degrees. I can't wait for October, the best month of the year.

I knew he could do it! Was he happy with himself? Or mad about it? Even if he was unhappy about having to do so, once he figures out how much nicer it is to walk, he's gonna be loving it! Your days of having to carry Jacob are about over! Yeah for the Dastrups!
I bet Dad's right - It'll take some time for him to get comfortable with it. But I'm excited for some youtube action with Jacob's new moves.
