We'd just like to publicly congratulate Chad on his running! 5-6 miles a day is really great! And while good running shoes are expensive, when you think about all the money that overweight people spend on hypertension meds, type II diabetes meds, plus all of the doctor visits due to weight-related problems, I'd say that you come out ahead. Not to mention that you will look better, feel better, and sleep better! Talk about an investment! That Provo River Canyon 1/2 Marathon is the one I ran last summer, and it is a great way to start. The trail was beautiful and 97% downhill! If we end up in Utah, I may just come run it with you! Again-- good work, Chad! We are rooting for you!

Thanks. It's good to feel healthy. But I wish it wasn't so expensive. I suppose most everything worthwhile is expensive though.

Aw, don't worry...it is one of the best investments you will ever make! And you don't have a lot of kids draining your budget just yet...it will come though:)

Expensive? Kenyans are always the best long distance runners and they train barefoot and don't use heart monitors. It's only spoiled, pampered Americans that put out the kind of money you did. :-)

I'm no longer "un-officially engaged". That's right. Your teasing and blunt hinting is old news. You all know the big news. No definite date yet, but it's looking like beginning to mid-July. *sigh* Long time. It actually works out great to do it then for when Katie's parents come home and Brigham's school stuff. Update on Me (if anybody cares) The Dr's office called yesterday and said they'd scheduled an appointment for discussing taking care of my thyroid through radiation. I said OK. Then, the Radiologist called me an hour later and said he wanted to do it over the phone, and give me the radiation treatment today. So I talked with him for quite a while. He says I have Graves disease (updated : I previously said White's disease), and highly recommended the radiation treatment, although there are a couple of other options. After weighing out the options, I've decided to go ahead and do the radiation treatment, because it doesn't completely kill the thyroid. It just severely hurts it. I'll be taking a good dose of Iodine-131 , which has the sideaffect of not being around my unborn baby for a while, which in turn means staying away from Erica. That won't be fun.
