It's the END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT!!!
Kim likes to watch the History Channel. That is where he goes when there is nothing else he wants to do. I like history too, only I have other things I would like to do more. Like Geneology these days. But Kim saw a program there the other night that he knew I would like. It was talking about the Aztecs and Chichinitza (?) , where we have been on the Yucatan penninsula in Mexico, so I watched it with him. It was very interesting. They talked about how they were so extremely advanced with astrology and their calendar was more accurate then than ours is now, as far as keeping precise time goes. They talked about the mystery of "a man of great importance that was a great influence for good among them...only they wondered why, in a society of indians (dark skin) this extremely important person was white, with blue eyes. This person also promised to return in the future and it was because the Aztecs expected this important white person to return, that set them up for devastation when the Spaniards came and wiped out 90% of them."
What I found the most interesting thing was though, was the prophecies left behind about them about the future. As I said, they had the most advanced calendaring system in the world, ever. And according to their prophecies, (many of which have been verified by history when they were supposed to happen), "the time period between 1993 until Dec 21, 2012 will be bad. And I wish I had recorded this so I could be more precise, but basically it sounded like life will end (as we currently know it) on Dec 21, 2012. (Now THERE IS A BIRTHDAY TO LOOK FORWARD TO CHRISTA!) After that, there will be a new sort of beginning...a new way of looking at things. I don't remember what it said specifically. And I don't know if these "prophecies" were given by prophets in Moroni's day, earlier, or later when they had become corrupted...so I take this all with a grain of salt. Nevertheless, I think we should have a family gathering here, on say Dec 18, 2012 that lasts for about a week or 2! Whadaya say folks? Is it a plan???
