I decided it's time to complete my geek look. I went to the eye doctor today, and they told me I need glasses for looking at things up close (such as computer screens). I went to LensCrafters, so I could have the glasses for tomorrow. But when I was finished, they told me I won't be able to get them for 1-2 weeks. I think their "in about an hour" thing refers to the time it takes once you give them the prescription to when you're given the receipt. It also cost a lot more than I expected. Part of that was because I got 2 pair - one for home, one for work. But even so, it cost twice as much as I was expecting. And I just turned down vision insurance two weeks ago. Oh well.

After the party was over, Jacob waited until Brigham and I were busy getting kids out the door and then grabbed a big handful of cake. From the trail of cake crumbs and frosting, we gathered that he ran across the living room with it, stopped and wiped a hand on the couch, and we found him licking crumbs off of his hand while sitting on the Love Sac. Unfortunately, it was decorator's icing-- meaning it was half butter and shortning. What a mess! You'd think he hadn't almost thrown up from eating too much cake only a half an hour before!

I did find out that I have a very basic vision insurance included with both my health & dental insurances. It's a maximum of 30% off, but it can't be combined with promotions (such as 50% off lenses), which doesn't make sense to me. I'll go down and have them figure out which way is cheapest for me.
