Yesterday was a landmark day for the Dastrups. "Why?" you ask. Because we were able to take Jacob hiking for the first time without him crying the ENTIRE hike as he did on our last two attempts! It was wonderful. We went to Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument, which is only about 45 min. from our house. There are some cool rock formations that look like upside-down ice-cream cones (or tee-pees) that I've never seen before that were supposedly formed by volcanic vents. We hiked through some slot canyons and really enjoyed ourselves. During our whole 2+ hour hike, JD only required about 15 minutes of Baby Einstein towards the end to stay happy. Success!
Those poor Jehovah’s witnesses showed up at the door here again . They come here every few months or so. They rang the doorbell and my father-in-law (Craig) answered it. They asked if he'd like to talk about religion and he invited them in and said he'd love to. To make a long story short, he asked what makes the Jehovah's Whitnesses special and what was their "compelling doctrine". Their response was "well, we read the bible." Craig- "So do the Baptists, Catholics, and Mormons..... so what is special about your church" JW's- "we belive in Jesus Christ" Craig- "so do all of the Christians.... " JW's- "We preach the gospel" Craig- "Um... that still isn't original. Tell me why I should listen to you over anyone else" JW's- "Umm... I don't know..."
