Movie Review: Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events

Wow. What can I say. I should have known what kind of movie it would be, since it stars Jim Carrey. Yeah, I pretty much, um, very much disliked it. I still don't know what the point of the movie was. The front of the DVD case says, "Family Fun for Everyone!" I would strongly disagree. The kids whose (both) parents died in a fire don't even cry ever in the whole movie, and they watch guardians die throughout the whole movie. It wasn't drama. Wasn't humor. Wasn't scary. Wasn't romantic. It was just plain weird. Maybe I'll give it a half star since it has made me think about it today, trying to figure it out.
Anyone out there like this movie? Maybe if you explained it to me I'd like it more...

It's been a while since I've seen it so I don't remember it all that well (and that says something about it I suppose), but I remember it being mildly entertaining. I didn't hate it...I didn't love it. It was weird. Point of the movie: The bad guy always loses.
