Those poor Jehovah’s witnesses showed up at the door here again . They come here every few months or so. They rang the doorbell and my father-in-law (Craig) answered it. They asked if he'd like to talk about religion and he invited them in and said he'd love to. To make a long story short, he asked what makes the Jehovah's Whitnesses special and what was their "compelling doctrine". Their response was "well, we read the bible." Craig- "So do the Baptists, Catholics, and Mormons..... so what is special about your church" JW's- "we belive in Jesus Christ" Craig- "so do all of the Christians.... If an election were held today, he'd get my vote though I still believe that Guiliani is more electable just because even though he's not the first choice of those that tilt to the right, they would still vote for him when matched against Clinton or Obama. Put that together with the fact that centerists are more likely to vote for him than Huckabee or Romney and I think for the republicans he's got the best chance of winning (not that I think Republicans have much of a chance of winning...thank you Mr. Bush). The problem with Guiliani and Romney is that they have been sniping at each other instead of focusing on the Democrats which could prove detrimental to the party if one of them is the nominee. Clinton & Obama are in the same boat though...thy are so busy going after each other that they often leave the real race against the Republicans behind. Until recently I would have said the Republican debates were more "civil" but in the past few weeks both
Repubican and Democratic candidates are ripe with infighting. It seems the
press has given the Democratic nomination to Hillary already while they say the Republican race is still up in the air. I don't like the way Romney has switched his views on a number of issues (including abortion) and the way when he talks he sounds like a pure politician instead of talking like a human.
