Knowing Gronemans like I do, I'm curious how many of our clan actually stayed awake to greet the new year. I'm guessing only 20% did. The Dastrup tribe certainly didn't since our kids don't understand the concept of sleeping in. Did anyone actually party?

We didn't, as usual. Went to bed about 9 and woke up about 6 to greet the new year. Erica told me their story...I'll let them tell it. :-)

We invited all the young couples of our ward over to our house for new years eve (knowing most would be gone visiting family). When I planned it, there were 3 families who were coming for sure, but every single couple ended up backing out last minute. We were actually glad thought because we were very tired. I went to bed at about 8:30.

Well, I know Chad and Erica were asleep at midnight, but not by that long. I hear they were awake at 11:50 and went to sleep and woke up at 12:10. Right? Anyway, sounds like they are so far the biggest partiers. Brett and Katy had plans. I'll bet they were awake.

Yes, Brett and KatIE were awake. Then I had to go from Highland to Cedar Hills and then to Provo to be at work at 6am after getting to bed at 2am.

Yep. I'm going to bed early tonight.

And mom (and everyone -- you're not the first to do it), it's "Katie." Not "Katy." FYI.

Hi KatIE! Anyway, I had to brave the night by staying up until midnight while the rest of the Nelson clan took the sleeping shift. There's not much to celebrate when you're by yourself

When you're used to a house full of kids, being by yourself can be cause for celebration in and of itself.

...and just for the record, I've always spelled it "Katie" (Just look at my blog posts) but I'm contemplating a change over to Katheryn any day now.

NAW! She is KatIE 100% to me. I have heard her called Kate by Brett, and for whatever reason "Kate" rubs me wrong. She is to classy fun and cute for "Kate"!

Yup, it's true. Chad and I stayed up until 11:50 pm, fell asleep, then woke up at 12:10 am. We could hear the Provo fireworks. So much for the countdown with the martinellis. :) I've never been much of a New Year's celebrater anyway--I'm too much early-to-bed, early-to-rise for it to work for me. We got so close though!! :)

well what a bunch of fuddy duddy's I have in my family! I stayed up and partied until about 4 am that morning. I worked but after work, I went to a dance, danced my heart out and then went over to my new group of friends house and played the rock band game...It was quite fun.
