Those poor Jehovah’s witnesses showed up at the door here again . They come here every few months or so. They rang the doorbell and my father-in-law (Craig) answered it. They asked if he'd like to talk about religion and he invited them in and said he'd love to. To make a long story short, he asked what makes the Jehovah's Whitnesses special and what was their "compelling doctrine". Their response was "well, we read the bible." Craig- "So do the Baptists, Catholics, and Mormons..... so what is special about your church" JW's- "we belive in Jesus Christ" Craig- "so do all of the Christians.... " JW's- "We preach the gospel" Craig- "Um... that still isn't original. Tell me why I should listen to you over anyone else" JW's- "Umm... I don't know..." So the question is, would you do it differently if you had the chance?
I, for one, am extremely grateful for the sacrifices my doctors made to be prepared to save my life. I hope they find some sort of consolation in this.
Major bummer! But there sure would be a lot of our family dead now without the great work of Drs. They can go to sleep each night and know that they made the world a better place for folks that they treat each day.
I did some simple number-crunching last night, and yeah, if I were willing to work the hours that med school residents put into their residency, then sure, I could easily make 6 figures a year at my current pay rate, which as you may guess isn't fantastic.
Yep... I'm too lazy to do it.
