I would like to propose the idea of spending Thanksgiving this year in California. There are 6 people in Utah, 5 in California (including a new baby), and 4 in NM. So why not California? We have plenty of friends close friends who would be vacating their houses so we could use one as extra sleeping quarters. We could also go visit some So Cal sights if people wanted to. Thoughts????

Sounds nice, but I doubt Brigham will have the time off. Everyone else will, though... so come here!

Au contraire... I will only be able to get either thanksgiving or christmas off, not both. I like christmas a little more so I'm going to request christmas off and so most likely, if thanksgiving is elsewhere, I will not be able to participate...such is the trouble when you have so many people in the family working in the medical field.

Can I just say that I will be happy when we someday CAN all be on the same page at the same time?

I doubt someday will ever come. Cambrie married a Californian. Jacob would never do well in the Utah inversions. BJ's never going to meet a nice Utah boy in California. At least this isn't the 1800's where my daughter went across the ocean and/or across the country with her husband and we only get letters a few times a year. My boys are in Utah (for now) and I'm glad of that. Perhaps I will have some grandchildren that I can see more than a couple of times a year and can take camping and play with and become close to. And my $0.02 on the subject is that as long as I have kids in UT that want to come home for thanksgiving, I'm not going anywhere because one of my quests in life is to provide a "grandma's house" or a "grandpa's house" where my family feels like "home".
