'NUTHER MOVIE REVIEW: Martian Child - Different. Entertaining. Enjoyable to watch. It didn't have one of those esoteric endings that are so popular these days where you are left to decide what is real. The ending is great. Definitely in the "feel good" genre. My main disappointment in this movie is that it didn't do enough to develop the sub-plot of his woman friend. She just seemed to be in the background except for a few short scenes. You can guess her eventual role by watching the pictures as the credits are rolling by.
Those poor Jehovah’s witnesses showed up at the door here again . They come here every few months or so. They rang the doorbell and my father-in-law (Craig) answered it. They asked if he'd like to talk about religion and he invited them in and said he'd love to. To make a long story short, he asked what makes the Jehovah's Whitnesses special and what was their "compelling doctrine". Their response was "well, we read the bible." Craig- "So do the Baptists, Catholics, and Mormons..... so what is special about your church" JW's- "we belive in Jesus Christ" Craig- "so do all of the Christians.... " JW's- "We preach the gospel" Craig- "Um... that still isn't original. Tell me why I should listen to you over anyone else" JW's- "Umm... I don't know..."
