Prayers work: Today Steve got a phone call from the CEO of the VA hospital in Los Angeles Steve became good friends with her before she got moved to LA and became the CEO. She offered him a really good job (70-80k starting off). It is a great opportunity....except for the fact that Steve would have to work in LA and traffic is terrible.
He was also told today that he has been given an extention on his temporary job status for a year at the VA in Loma Linda which would be great as well (especially if he gets into dental school at loma linda).
He also went to a job fair today that happened to be in Loma Linda and he talked to a few organizations that sounded interested in him. 2 days ago we had no job options, and now we are swimming in them. Nice change.

Hmm...If my name were Steve Nelson, I'd take a permanent job in LA over an extension of a part time job. You can stand a commute for a couple of years.....of course unless he REALLY has his heart set on being in dental school and he's 99% sure he can get in. Then I'd consider the other. Of course, that's just me.

Yeah, I am with Kim. A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush, as they say (Sounds to me like this extension of the current job is also in the "temporary category"still, right?). And even though the commute would be Nasty...maybe 3 hours a day???... it still won't be the 12 hour shifts that Brigham and Cambrie have had to do. Yeah, Cambrie's was only 3 days a week. Brighams will be like 5 days though, right Brigham? Maybe worse? But it's worth it, because it is the ticket to a better life later. It will open some great doors down the road. Also, I think I would worry some about the CEO never trying to help you again if you turn this great offer down...then how much good does the internship do you in the end?. Just a thought. Take it or leave it.

Well done Steve. Some day I'll be rich and famous like you. In the meantime, I'll boss people around a grocery store.
